Hi,
Took her out today....finally!....to test the condensor...
My special thanks goes out to my good friend Will and his son Jake for helping me today. The wind was blowing 20 mph ...maybe more according to the weather alert, and we had a stiff chop......with Will stoking and Jake supervising, they got wet more than once!....
The lake water was pretty cold and I was holding 10 in Hg fairly easily. I later found an air leak at a fitting which explains the mediocure performance. The condensate was coming back cold.......way too cold. I will need to take some more measurements and see where we are...of course there is the summer months where the lake water will be much warmer I will be thankful for the extra surface area......we will see.
The feed pump ran great!....the new fitting at the feed check leaked like a sieve!......I ran with the injector for the duration....I was busy with the chop anyway
However....it was not all bad. The engine ran silky smooth now that I have lost the backpressure and gotten some vacuum on it. The clean up of the prop also helped....all in all, she ran almost like an electric motor!
Additionally, the boat behaved very well in the chop and if I can keep her into the wind, she was very comfortable. She has a tendency to broach going down wind on the waves but with the oversize rudder, I managed to keep her pointed where I wanted her.
I'll type more later
The wet air pump would appear a success. It was returning just fine.
Nothing on the pump loosened up.

Sorry Wes....it was raining and blowing so I left the camera's at home...and a good thing....when I got home I found this in my inbox....
Wind advisory in effect from 1 pm this afternoon to 6 pm edt this evening,
The NWS in taunton has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 1 pm this afternoon to 6 pm edt this evening. The advisory area extends from worcester county eastward to the coast including the north shore, boston metro area, and southward to taunton and plymouth.
Very strong winds will be blowing just above the surface today. Cloud cover and a strong inversion will make it difficult to mix these down to the ground. However, from about 2 pm to 5 pm this afternoon, just enough heating is expected to occur to help transport wind gusts of minimal wind advisory thresholds, 46 mph, down to the surface. The best chances for this to occur are from worcester to boston and the north and south shore communities of eastern Massachusetts. If we get some sunshine, the winds could be more widespread.
Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A wind advisory is issued either when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly causing isolated power disruptions.
It really didn't seem THAT bad....maybe we just missed it...
